Scott Rule, Home Builder
Scott Rule set his sights on the residential home building industry early in life and has been building quality homes since 1999. Shortly after graduation from Texas A&M University, he launched his career working in the Estimating Department for Newmark Homes. After a series of progressive assignments, he moved to Gehan Homes, and later DR Horton in order to widen his knowledge base, learning ‘best practices’ of differing companies in differing market sectors.
After working 5 years for these preeminent homebuilders, Scott and a business partner (who worked at a competing builder) collaborated to build their first ‘spec’ home in West Houston, branding their business as Baker Street Builders. Subsequently, in 2005, the budding entrepreneurs secured land in Jersey Village, built streets, parks, and installed utilities, and constructed a 26 home gated community. Once this 3 year project was fully developed, Scott focused his energies in securing land to build 30+ Memorial area homes – with price points ranging from $600K – $1.1 Million.
In 2015, the business partner left the Houston market, and Scott re-named the company Baker Street Homes. His most recent endeavor is the development of a 10 unit townhome community in Spring Branch on behalf of a group of local investors. Mr. Rule is a member at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and an active supporter of the Houston Parks Board.
